Annual Brand Photography Commission with Wedding Business Expert, Becca Pountney

As a small business owner I know there is nothing better you can do for your business than learn as much as you can, invest in yourself and constantly look to improve. With my other wedding photography hat on, I met Becca, Pountney a fabulous Wedding Business Expert and community leader, many years ago at a networking event. We've gotten to know each other really well over the years and I've seen her business go from strength to strength. Becca is a fabulous champion of small businesses and entrepreneurs in the wedding industry and she thrives on watching others achieve their goals and grow in their businesses.

A fantastic variety of imagery

It was an absolute honour to work with Becca across a whole year worth of shoots in her Annual Commission. Slightly disrupted by Covid, it took us a little while to complete all four shoots across the year but we managed to get a fantastic variety of imagery for Becca to use across her website, social media channels and for trainings, speaking engagements and with her broad audience of wedding businesses. Becca also rebranded during this time, which is a brilliant opportunity to refresh imagery and connect it to your new brand identity.

Seasonal Content

Our first shoot took place initially in Becca's home (she has a fabulous office space complete with a wall in her brand colour!) and then some shots taken around St Albans. The second shoot saw us head to the Henry Moore Studios for some shots in their modern indoor space and gorgeous grounds. Becca was invited to speak at the National Wedding Show, helping couples to choose their perfect suppliers, so she invited me along for shoot number 3 to document her doing her thing on stage at the ExCel centre in London. Her final shoot took place around London. We wanted to get some festive images which Becca could use for seasonal content, and also some around the streets of Mayfair. We got a really fabulous selection of images for Becca across her year together to cover her for all seasons and lots of different scenarios, and she now has a brilliant suite of imagery to give her huge choice and flexibility when creating content for her audience and across her channels.

Being photographed takes practice!

One thing Becca said to me about her shoots was that she loved how with each one, she felt more relaxed and at ease having her photo taken. It takes practice, and an annual commission is a great way to commit to getting in front of the camera and being visible to your audience. Becca also told me that she really enjoyed injecting some of her personality in to her shoots, hopping onto a carousel for one of them! There's no limit to what you can do to create your personal brand and identity and the more of your personality you can bring to your photos, the better!
